Mark Moore--senior minister
Mark Moore grew up on a farm in the Missouri Ozarks. After beginning his undergraduate education at Southwest Missouri State in Springfield, he transferred to Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) in Kirksville to help start a campus ministry for the Central Church of Christ. After graduation, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agri-Business in 1981, he trained as a campus Minister Intern. In 1982, he married Colleen Tuley, a student from Palmyra, Missouri. In 1984, Mark became the Campus Minister and together they continued to serve the students and church there for the next four years.
In 1988, Mark became the Preaching Minister for the church until he moved to Normal, Illinois in 1997. In 2001, he graduated with a Master of Arts in Historical Theology from Lincoln Christian Seminary. During this time he worked as an Associate Minister with Northside Church of Christ in Bloomington, Illinois.
Mark and Colleen have four grown children. Colleen has her Masters Degree in Physical Education/Teacher Education from Illinois State University and works as an Elementary Physical Education teacher for Glenn School in Normal.
Mark and Colleen enjoy hanging out with their kids and with friends, outdoor activities of all kinds, and reading.
Steve Stark--youth minister
Steve Stark grew up right here in Downs, weekly attending church less than a block away from Living Hope. He studied Biblical Exposition at Lincoln Christian University. He worked in student ministry soon after graduating from high school, spending several years as a volunteer at Eastview Christian Church in Normal. There he received hands-on experience leading small groups and assisted students throughout a variety of life's twists and turns that comes with being a teenager.
During the summer of 2007, Steve worked as a summer camp counselor at Timber-Lee Christian Center. He went back in the summer of 2009 as part of their leadership staff in order to challenge college age leaders to help lead the next generation of Christ followers.
Beginning in the fall of 2009 Steve felt a strong pull to come back home to help disciple students attending Tri-Valley schools (Steve is an '06 Tri-Valley grad). After a year of much praying and seeking an opportunity in the area, Steve was hired at Living Hope in the fall of 2010.
Steve enjoys reading, coffee dates (with just about anyone), pick-up sports games, and following baseball (a bit excessively).
